Students enrolled in private lessons may choose up
to two Enrichment Classes per semester for no
additional fee. Students who are not enrolled in
private lessons pay a small class fee. Unless
otherwise specified, classes run in six-week
sessions: January 23 – March 3 and March 5 –
April 21. (There are no classes Mar 26 – Apr 1.)
Sing With Me!
(7 – 9 yrs)
Sing With Me! focuses on musical theatre
and folk songs that are carefully selected for
young children. Classes promote an
awareness of singing with others and healthy
singing habits appropriate for this age.

Creative Improv Ensemble
(Gr. K – 3)
Creative Improv combines movement, rhythm
and improvisation, pulling together young
musicians of all backgrounds. At the end of
each session students present a “rhythm
composition” in a class performance.

Violin Group Class
(Gr. K – 12)
Violin Group Class develops theory and
rhythm skills and focuses on small ensemble
playing. Classes meet once a month: Feb

Gr. 4 – 12: Saturday, 1 – 1:30 pm

PPS Composing Salon
(Gr. 3 – 8)
Student composers are invited to share their
creations once a month and receive peer
and teacher feedback. Students will perform
their compositions and work on new projects
using manuscript and software. Classes
meet on Jan 27, Feb 17, Mar 16 and Apr
27.

Guitar Ensemble

Students studying private guitar receive
coaching on ensemble selections that further
strengthen note-reading, rhythm and

World Rhythm Ensemble
(Gr. 4 – 10)
World Rhythm Ensemble explores Afro–
Caribbean rhythms using traditional
percussion instruments. Students master
Jamaican and African rhythmic patterns,
drumming technique and learn simple folk
songs. Each six-week session concludes
with a drumming presentation.

Singing In Other Languages
(Gr. 4 – 12)
Singing in Other Languages explores a new
language each month and includes diction,
pronunciation and singing styles unique to
each country. Languages will include Italian,
Spanish, German and French. Classes meet
on Feb 4, Mar 10, Apr 14 and May 5.
